Project: The project was for a very large garage area of a local vintage car collector, who not only wanted to achieve a very clean car showroom look, but also wanted to have ample storage for his normal garage items and car service parts, as well as his collection of car memorabilia.
All of the garage cabinetry was made out of a brushed aluminum melamine, incorporating black powder-coated built-in, J-pull door handles and a special Linex-coated countertop. The project also included an enclosed cabinet for a urinal unit with a waterproof interior liner and beverage cup holders in the cabinet shelving, which was contoured for someone to walk inside the cabinet.
Entrant's Goals: The goal of the project was simply to carry the owner’s vision for the space into reality and to create an “ultra garage suite” for his classic cars and for car collector friends and neighbors who stopped by to talk shop.
Closet Organizing Systems worked very closely with the client to coordinate the overall needs of the project, which included the installation spacing of cars and a car lift system, the plumbing penetrations for the urinal cabinet area, investigating and testing the special Linex coating over an MDF core for the countertop, designing the cabinets and spacing around the requirements of his air compressor, existing toolbox sizing, air and water hoses, and a pre-existing slop sink area.
