Closet Works, along with its sister company in Las Vegas, is the largest non-franchised custom closet company in the U.S.  Closet Works was founded in 1987 by our current President Mike Carson.  Since our humble beginnings offering white laminate closets, we have expanded into a wide range of closet system colors and woodgrains.  In addition, we have veneer offerings to provide a full spectrum of products at a wide range of price points.  We have also expanded our organizational style beyond the closet and into offices, garages, pantries and so much more!

Closet Works corporate office and manufacturing facility is located in Elmhurst, IL with showrooms in Naperville, Chicago and Luxehome at the Merchandise Mart.  Our family of 84 consists of 18 full-time design professionals, 18 full-time, fully trained installers, plus all of our shop and office staff.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for the planning, organization, direction, coordination, and management of the Production Division of a currently $12 million company.  This person is responsible to meet production goals and to achieve those goals within budgeted guidelines to support business growth and profitability.  Another responsibility of this role is to develop and implement production strategies in cooperation with the President and C.E.O.  The overall responsibility of the Production Manager is to manage material flows, productivity, and shop personnel in an organized manner so as to reach set delivery schedules within a budget.  The Production Manager reports directly to the President of the company.

Qualifications:

- Must have exceptional leadership abilities and 5-7 years production supervisory experience in a woodworking environment

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Experience with large computer based saws, routers, edge banders, and all basic wood working machinery

- Experience with CAD programs a plus

- Ability to train, manage, and interact with shop employees

- Ability to follow-through, be organized, and work in a fast-paced environment

- College degree preferred
